Hybrid System (HS)

REINTJES has developed a new, electrically driven hybrid system solution for gearboxes offering new possibilities for vessels when travelling at low speed.

The hybrid system provides for a much more efficient operation because it enables travelling at a slow speed below the main engine idling speed. The electric drive is aimed at achieving smooth running, less noise and low energy consumption. In order to enable easy installation, the combined electric motor and generator are already flanged to the gearbox and the complete system is supplied with a frequency converter.
